Effigy medallion in glass, copper, and leather This otter is a more contemporary Northwest Coast design, inspired by the art of Joe David, a West Coast Tsimshian who paints in a semi-realistic style. The grace and beauty of river otters playing in the warming springtime currents is irresistible to me. The centerpiece uses crystal, faceted, and copper glass beads. I made copper tube beads and used them with antique African copper trade disks and glass beads in the neckline. Awards: 1st Place, Novelty Beads and Best of Show, Beads, Los Angeles Co.
